Francis Dunlop

Francis Dunlop was the late son of Bishop Colin Dunlop. His memoir of his father, From London to Lincoln via Baghdad: The Life of Bishop Colin Dunlop, 1897-1968 , was published by Aesop Publications in 2019.

In his Foreword, Francis wrote:

For the last five or six years I have been doing research for, and then writing, a biography of my father, Bishop Colin Dunlop. The main basis of this is the collection of very interesting personal journals he kept at various points in his life, a good many family letters to my mother and her guardian, and later to me, official correspondence in the Lambeth Palace Library, and articles he published in various church papers, parish and diocesan magazines, etc. My chief aim is to try to give a rounded portrait of him as a man, but also to show what the life and work of a clergyman and dignitary involved, against the background of the early to mid twentieth century.
